An Independent Oversight Body
The Board of Trustees is composed of multidisciplinary members who actively give policy guidelines, advice and direction to the TDF. It meets once every quarter and elects members every year. The current members of the Board of Trustees are:
Chair of the Board
Dr. Ruben L. Encarnacion is the President and Chairman of the Board of the Tropical Disease Foundation, Inc. (TDF). A distinguished clinical psychologist with over 34 years of professional practice, he specializes in adult psychotherapy, marital and family therapy, child play therapy, psychological assessment, and memory care.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Encarnacion has been a faculty member of the Ateneo Graduate School of Business since 2016, where he teaches Leadership and Human Resources. He is a respected speaker and organizational development consultant, having conducted leadership, mental health, and workplace development programs for leading organizations across the Philippines.
Dr. Encarnacion earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, M.A. in Counseling Psychology, and B.S. in Management Engineering (cum laude), all from Ateneo de Manila University. Through his leadership, extensive professional experience, and commitment to advancing health and human development, he continues to guide TDF in fulfilling its mission of improving the lives of vulnerable communities through research, innovation, and quality healthcare programs.
