As you know, I met Thelma more than 20 years ago when I was in the Green Light Committee and the Philippines had one of the best MDR-TB programs in the world, especially because the management of MDR-TB patients was handled by TDF and led by Thelma. From the beginning, it was always very nice to work with Thelma—a wonderful person with excellent knowledge. Sincerely, I think the TB world, especially the MDR-TB community, owes an important debt to Thelma.
Her most important motivation was always the patients. I will pray for Thelma’s eternal rest.
