At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in September 2020, when strict community quarantine measures were still in place, the TDF partnered with TB People Philippines (TB People PH) to sustain tuberculosis (TB) awareness, education, and patient engagement initiatives. In response to the constraints on face-to-face interactions, both organizations swiftly transitioned to digital platforms, demonstrating adaptability and resilience in continuing essential health communication efforts. This shift enabled them to maintain active engagement with patients, advocates, and healthcare stakeholders, ensuring that critical information and support remained accessible despite widespread mobility restrictions and disruptions in routine healthcare services.

Through this collaboration, a series of online webinars was conducted to provide timely and relevant guidance on TB care during the pandemic. These sessions covered key topics such as treatment adherence, access to diagnostic and treatment services, and coping strategies amid the challenges posed by COVID-19. Building on this partnership, in 2022, TB People PH further extended its support by covering chest X-ray procedures for contacts of registered TB patients, with particular priority given to pediatric contacts. This initiative strengthened early detection efforts and underscored a shared commitment to protecting vulnerable populations while ensuring continuity of TB care and prevention services.
