Dr. Charissa Fay Corazon Borja-Tabora is a Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist and highly respected clinical and public health leader with extensive expertise in infection prevention and control, antimicrobial stewardship, and pediatric care. She serves as Chair of the Infection Prevention and Control Committee and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, where she plays a pivotal role in strengthening clinical governance, patient safety, and the management of infectious diseases.
At the national level, she contributes to key Department of Health technical and advisory bodies, including the Infection Prevention and Control Technical Working Group, the National Steering Committee for the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, the Regional Adverse Events Following Immunization Committee (RAEFIC) – NCR, and the Technical Working Group for the National Specialty Center, supporting evidence-based policy development and health system strengthening. She is also a long-standing consultant in pediatric infectious diseases at Asian Hospital and Medical Center.
In 2022, Dr. Tabora joined the Tropical Disease Foundation as Principal Investigator for four completed vaccine clinical trials, further underscoring her commitment to advancing clinical research and evidence-based infectious disease care.
