In 1999 the Makati Medical Center(MMC) was one of the four agencies that entered into private-public partnership in setting up the MMC DOTS Clinic. A Memorandum of Agreement with TDF, both representing the private sector, and Barangay San Lorenzo and the Department of Health, representing the public sector, was signed in a commitment to undertake the DOTS strategy.

Since 1999, MMC continues to house the MMC DOTS Clinic and MDR-TB Clinic and the TDF TB Laboratory, and supports the salary of two physicians at the C.P. Manahan Annex, Makati Medical Center.
