TDF New President - Dr. Julius Lecciones
The foundation is pleased to announce the unanimous election of Dr. Julius A. Lecciones as TDF’s new President and CEO. The Foundation's Board of Trustees convened last July 7, 2022 for its annual organizational meeting in which the election of the new President was part of the agenda.
The Tropical Disease Foundation, Inc. served as Dr. Lecciones’s training ground back in the early 90’s after his Clinical Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology and Infectious Diseases through the guidance of TDF's founder, Dr. Thelma E. Tupasi. In less than a year working in the Foundation as Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, Dr. Lecciones contributed in every major development in the Foundation’s services and programs. In spite of the global pandemic, TDF remained steadfast in continuing its operations and in the implementation of its services and clinical trials on infectious diseases of public health importance.
Dr. Lecciones brings with him his almost 30 years of experience working in both corporate and government executive positions, his clinical skills, teaching experiences, and research works. These are only a few of Dr. Lecciones’s career highlights that would help propel the Foundation towards sustainability, thereby ensuring the Foundation’s attainment of its vision of equitable universal access to health for national prosperity.
With his academic, management, and professional achievements, we are honored to welcome our new captain who will navigate our Foundation’s future to continue the legacy of excellence laid out for us by the late Dr. Thelma E. Tupasi. We wish him all the best.
